Breaking the Ice -- An awesome two-player game about two characters going on their first three dates, trying to make a connection and fall in love. Definitely off the beaten track, but fun. Color character sheet. Black and white character sheet. Capes -- Amazing. Super-fast character generation (under a minute) that still lets you have engaging characters. Flash character generator. Conspiracy of Shadows -- Nothing is what you thought it was. Fate has brought you face to face with what lurks in the dark. How far will you go to learn the truth? Various downloads. Dogs in the Vineyard -- You play God's Watchdogs, defending the faithful and punishing the sinners. Pseudo-Mormon gunslingers...get it. Get it right now. Various downloads. Ganakagok -- Eskimo-punk. Seriously. Also, seriously awesome. InSpectres -- Half Ghostbusters, half reality TV show. Always fun, and sometimes frightening. Various downloads. The Mountain Witch -- A highly structured game and adventure packed into one. You play a group of ronin hired to climb Mount Fiji and kill O-Yanma, the mountain witch. My Life with Master -- Episodic play with a defined endgame, but still allowing for limitless variation. You play the twisted minions of an evil master, doing his bidding, while trying to find enough Love to overcome your Self-Loathing and Weariness and enable you to stand up to the master. Review here. Obsidian -- It's a few hundred years in the future. The gates of hell have opened, and the last survivors of humanity struggle to get by in a massive fortress. Positively dripping with flavor. Unfortunately, it's also positively dripping with typos and grammar errors, but it's still worth checking out. Review here. Primetime Adventures -- Play out a season of the greatest television series that never was, or reproduce your favorite shows. The Shadow of Yesterday -- A truly unique fantasy world, with too many interesting aspects to list. Sorcerer -- You're just a regular old human, with one exception. You can summon and bind demons to do your bidding. This game's not about kool powerz and such, but rather, it addresses the question: How far will you go to get what you want?
Universalis -- The only RPG that truly deserves the term
"revolutionary." Basically, everyone's a GM, creating a story together.
Sounds like it couldn't work, right? But it does. Reviews
here and
here. Blood on Satin -- A LARP set in the new World of Darkness. Open to mortals, vampires, werewolves, and mages (Carteret, NJ). Runs like clockwork, and the guy who coordinates it has his head screwed on right. Definitely check it out.
